SASHA BASSON – Head Chef & BOH Training Manager
A passionate foodie and skilled chef, Sasha is equally charged by passing on her knowledge to our kitchen staff and watching them flourish. She’s dedicated to bringing our customers the culinary experience that tashas is celebrated for: beautiful food, engagingly delivered.
As Head Chef and Product Specialist for tashas South Africa, Sasha has her work cut out for her, but brings her characteristic positivity and flexibility to the job, no matter the challenges.
Her day-to-day involves a tight schedule of training staff from diverse backgrounds and skill levels across the back of house landscape. She also keeps a sharp eye on incoming stock, dealing with suppliers to ensure our quality is always on par with our brand pillars.
Sasha joined us after taking up a calling for teaching hospitality students at a culinary school. Once satisfied, she went on to work for Tsogo Sun Hotels group in both Cape Town and Johannesburg. Both experiences have given her a unique combination of skills that she brings to the tashas family.
When she’s out of the kitchen, you’ll typically find Sasha carving a path along a mountain bike trail, fulfilling her need for adventure. Her home kitchen is usually filled with friends, family, good food and great wine.
